Tuesday, March 29, 2005

Some girl ran a red light and crashed into me while i was making a left hand turn. She drove directly into the driver's side. Praise God Jill was not in the car with me.  My ribs hurt and my car's done. Shit happens.

Songs to keep my head up:
Dr.Dog - Wake Up
Kings of Leon - The Bucket
Two Gallants - Nothing To You
M83 - Dont Save Us From The Flames
Neutral Milk Hotel - King of Carrot Flowers Part 2 & 3
The Decemberists - The Sporting Life
The Stills - Lola Stars and Stripes

SXSW was unbelievable. Too much shit happened over the 4 day period and it all melted together that I dont really know where to begin. All you need to know is there was pleanty of beer, bands, taps, meat head locals, bars, cigs, and friends.
Since I've been married I'm even more domesticated and chill and go to bed early and shit, SXSW was get up at 9am party until 4:30am. Then you would do it all over again. It was a blast. Out of the few bands I wanted to see I saw, Crystal Skulls (great) and DFA 1979 (eh). Bands that I saw that were great anyway was Two Gallants (next big thing), Dr. Dog (local Philly band that has some of the best harmonies and sunglasses), These Arms Are Snakes (plug-have never seen them as good since the first time I saw them about 2 years ago), Oxbow (crazy ultimate fighter dude as the singer, very sexual big black man that pleasure's himself throughout the set), Year Future (killer live band) and I think that's about it. I did however get caught talking shit on Underoath for cancelling their headling slot at the T&N showcase just to watch ISIS by 2 members of the band who apparently just looked boggled. Funny thing is These Arms Are Snakes are doing a full tour with them so i'll probably run into these fools again. Oh and Howard Stern's girlfriend Beth O. was staying at our hotel as well which had me and my boss freaking out. And a cab driver told me and my coworker where to get some "shuga shuga fo our putta putta" at some sick bar where you could get full service for $60!!!! In about 3 weekends from now I'll be in the van with Breather Resist for a show in Philly and 2 in one day. The first in Brooklyn at like 3pm and the other in NYC at like 7pm. Should be a good time. 2 posts in 1 month, what the hell?

Currently listening to:
Alkaline Trio - Crimson
Hot Hot Heat - Elevator
Two Gallants - The Throes
Sage Francis - A Healthy Distrust

2 more days until I leave for SXSW. Should be a fantastic time. The only bands/artists I'm going to try and see (other than the JT/Touch and Go and the JT/FatWreck because I have to) are MF Doom, DFA 1979, Oxes, Crystal Skulls, and Vanilla Ice. There are too many bands/showcases going on that to plan on seeing any more than that would be impossible. There should be some friends down there too which I hope to run into. Who am I kidding I'm just going for the free beer and BBQ's, get shit faced and run around like a drunk asshole. 5 days of retarded fun!!!

I hope that the "blizzard" we're supposed to get stays off the damn coast and stays out at sea. Making plans to move to Cali where it doesnt snow and the beer flows like wine.

The Game - The Documentary
The Decemberists - Picaresque
The Cramps - How To Make A Monster
